Sporting Grants

Lord’s Taverners Northern NSW invites applications for grants to assist the young and disadvantaged. While cricket has been our main focus, we accept applications from all sports. Generally programs are aimed at young men and women who are in their formative years, reaching out for careers or sporting activities. No absolute age group is specified to enable total discretion in our activities.

Our motto is “Giving the young and disadvantaged a sporting chance.” This guides our decision regarding whom we will support and involves any sporting or physical activity and can include the provision of appropriate equipment, coaching, mentoring and transport.

A person can be disadvantaged because of one or more of the following-

  • Intellectual disability.
  • Physical disability such as Visually or Hearing Impaired, Spinal Injury etc.
  • Geographical isolation.
  • Financial disadvantage such as family breakdown, family/income trauma.
  • Marginalised and/or minority groups such as indigenous people.

Please note that you can only apply for a Sporting Grant every THREE (3) years.

A Grants Sub-Committee has been established to receive, prioritize and advise the Executive on nominations.
