On Saturday 26th September we will be hosting a dinner at the Narrabri RSL Club to relaunch the Narrabri Sports Awards. We will be welcoming two very special guests to the dinner in the forms of Jim Maxwell, celebrated ABC Cricket Commentator and correspondent, and Jodie Fields, former Australian Women’s Cricket team Captain and wicketkeeper.
Jim will be interviewed by Chairman Stan Gilchrist, who will later introduce Jodie to the stage to be interviewed by Jim. Both have some special views about where cricket is in Australia, and what the future holds for both men and women in the world of cricket.
There will be an auction of some very special memorabilia, including signed bats, books and soccer shirts. Tickets in the Lord’s Taverners Australia National Raffle will also be sold – a trip for two to Amsterdam by Etihad Airways in BUSINESS CLASS, then a River Boat Cruise to Budapest – total value $40,000.00.
Tickets are only $42.00 ($40.00 for members and you still have time to join online!!!) for adults and $15.00 for children. This price includes an excellent meal, the opportunity to listen to and mix with Jim and Jodie, and the chance to celebrate some great sporting achievements by local athletes in several sports. Tickets are available at Narrabri RSL (Phone 02 67921844 or email Admin@narrabrirsl.com.au) but unfortunately on a cash-only basis. (Anyone wishing to reserve a ticket and pay immediately before the function should email chairman@lordstaverners-northernnsw.com.au and arrangements can be made.)
