Update No 5

Twenty20 Cricket Program in Secondary Schools.

In October/November, 28 teams took part in the Gilchrist , Phelps and Larsen Shields, a Gabba Sports sponsored competition which was overseen by a Committee consisting of Don Whitelaw, Warren Phelps, John Buttrum, Denis Byrne and myself (with valuable assistance from Danny Rosolen – Far North Coast Umpires and Scorers Association President )

Winners were:

• Gilchrist Shield – KINGSCLIFF HIGH – on a count back due to a rain shortened match v Trinity
• Phelps Shield – ST JOHN COLLEGE  WOODLAWN…who also won the regional event at Coffs Harbour and
• Larsen Shield – TRINITY CATHOLIC COLLEGE, LISMORE – player of the carnival –  Carly Fuller

Entry forms for the 2015 competition have been distributed and to date 22 teams have nominated . Reminders will be sent out soon with entries closing July 4….

The Competition is proving to be popular with Coastal and Lismore based teams and the Committee intend/hopes to attract more interest in Casino / Kyogle / Tenterfield areas prior to close off .
